The purpose of the League of Women Voters is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League of Women voters is nonpartisan in that it does not support or oppose any political party or candidate; it is political in that it takes positions on selected governmental issues after member study and agreement.

The League of Women Voters of the Bartlesville Area performs many services through different venues. The League works to have a educated and informed voter. As a group the League studies issues that are important in the local area as well as in the state and in the nation in a timely fashion in order to have a position to act from or to advocate from. We gather nonpartisan information on candidates and bills for elections and make it available on websites and as an insert in the local paper. The League’s Voter Service committee organizes forums for information on issues and candidates. We also organize opportunities to encourage people register to vote or change information, such as a change of address, when necessary.

The League also provides rides to the polls. For this service call 918-333-7007 to arrange an appointment ahead of time.
